WHAT FAMILIES WANT TO KNOW?
The Ellington of Rayne
The Ellington provides a multitude of services for our residents, including long-term nursing care, skilled nursing care, respite care, as well as outpatient physical, occupational, and speech therapy.
The first step is calling our facility to set up a meeting/tour. You can reach us at 337-334-5111 and ask to speak to someone in admissions. We will schedule a meeting with you and your loved one where we come to see them or vise-versa. We will work with you to get your loved one admitted into the best setting for their situation.
No problem! Sometimes hospitals have certain nursing homes on their lists and whether it be because of distance or something else, we are not on it. Just give us a call at 337-334-5111 and we can take you through the next steps!
At the Ellington of Rayne, we accept Traditional Medicare as well as most Managed Medicare plans. We also accept Medicaid and private pay. Call our office at 337-334-5111 for any payment/billing questions.
Absolutely! All long-term residents can go “out on pass” at their leisure with family/friends as often as they wish and they can go overnight for up to 15 nights/year. We also encourage family/friends to visit whenever they are able!
No! We encourage family/friends to visit as often as possible. Our doors automatically lock at 8 PM and reopen at 6AM, however, we have a doorbell and staff would be more than happy to let you in during hours when the doors are locked.
Yes. We have wheelchair accessible vans and staff that will bring your loved ones to all non-emergent medical appointments.
We have a work force at The Ellington of over 100 people, most of whom work in the nursing department as Certified Nursing Assistants, LPNs or RNs.
Yes. We have professional therapists who are experienced in working with elderly persons for a wide range of symptoms, conditions, and diagnoses. Examples include, but are not limited to, therapy needs following a stroke, broken hip, knee replacement, and other rehab needs aimed at improving your ability to stand, walk, transfer and return home safely. Physical, occupational, and speech therapy are available at The Ellington.
The attending physicians will see residents in the facility once every 60 days at a minimum, however, most of our physicians see their residents monthly. We are able to schedule office visits as needed to accommodate needs in between regular visits. Visits to specialists are on an as needed basis and away from the facility at the office or clinic designated by the specialist. If any emergency situation arises, we will send the resident out by ambulance for emergency care.
The Ellington has a vibrant atmosphere with dynamic, individualized activities that match the capabilities and needs of residents and their guests. We also have active resident and family councils and volunteer programs. Scheduled activities include: music, fitness activities, religious meetings, outside entertainment, games, gardening, field trips/outings and volunteer involvement. If you would like to arrange something special or have suggestions and ideas for individual or group activities, please inform our activities director. We welcome and encourage involvement from family and friends.
When therapy is ordered for your loved one, they will be seen anywhere from 3 days/week up to 7 days/week, depending on the needs of each individual resident.
